# Feed & Posting

The feed is the heart of the hood. Sign in with your X account — a self-custodial embedded wallet is created for you automatically (powered by Privy, no seed phrase to manage).

## Posting

* **Text** up to 500 characters.
* **Images** — jpeg, png, webp, or gif up to 4MB, attached with the image button.
* **Emoji picker** — built in, no keyboard gymnastics.
* **Links are live** — URLs in posts are clickable, shortened for display, and open in a new tab.
* **@mentions** link to profiles and notify the mentioned user.

Replies, reposts, and quotes work the way you expect. Quotes embed the original post — including its image.

## Identity & anti-impersonation

* Your handle comes from your verified X login. One X account, one market.
* Your **X user id is anchored permanently**: if an X account is deleted and recreated, the old key market does **not** transfer. Impersonators can't inherit a market.
* Profile pictures come from X; users without one get a deterministic geometric **sigil** generated from their handle.

## Moderation

Posts can be reported by anyone. Reports are reviewed; repeatedly-reported posts are automatically hidden pending review. Financial data is never touched by moderation — it lives onchain.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.socialhood.app/social-app/feed.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
